Dear Mr. Graeme Freeman, Mr. Alec Freeman, and the Freeman Foundation,

Thank you for providing me with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to study abroad this Spring 2024 semester as a recipient of the Freeman Scholarship.

Receiving this scholarship has not only eased the financial burden and concerns of studying abroad but has also greatly motivated me, knowing that I am proudly representing the Shidler College of Business as a Freeman Scholar. As a result of this opportunity, I have gained an expanded global perspective, as well as deeper insight into the business practices in Korea. On top of academics, five months in the country has fostered a stronger cultural connection to my Korean heritage. Studying abroad has forced me to pick up societal norms and adapt quickly to lifestyle changes, which are challenges that have shaped me into a more independent and resilient person. Overall, this experience has undoubtedly equipped me with the cross-cultural insights and skills necessary for my future academic and professional endeavors.
 

I look forward to giving back by sharing my experiences at Shidler, with the hope that I can inspire other students to embark on their own study abroad journey.
